WAIT ON THE LORD FOR YOU AND FOR OTHERS

Psalm 101

I will be careful to lead a blameless life—
       when will you come to me?
       I will walk in my house
       with blameless heart.

    ³ I will set before my eyes
       no vile thing.
       The deeds of faithless men I hate;
       they will not cling to me

This is the vow of somebody who is determined to follow God with all his heart. To wait on God is to get rid of sin. That is the first step. You can’t come before God or pretend you’ll serve God in any way when your heart is full of sin.

We said our task in “La Reine Esther” is to help youth to get rid of their bondages and follow God wholeheartedly. We will like to say that the first step is to get rid of sin. Wait on God for yourself by getting rid of sin.

Then you must wait on God for others.

Isaiah says in chapter 8:17

“I will wait upon the Lord, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him”

Psalm 101 says:

   ⁶ My eyes will be on the faithful in the land,
       that they may dwell with me;
       he whose walk is blameless
       will minister to me.

    ⁷ No one who practices deceit
       will dwell in my house;
       no one who speaks falsely
       will stand in my presence.

    ⁸ Every morning I will put to silence
       all the wicked in the land;
       I will cut off every evildoer
       from the city of the LORD.

Dear friend, I’ve come to realise this morning that the time we spend to gossip about a brother or a sister to whom the Lord is hidden his face because of some sin, is the time to pray for him/her and act like prophets who cares for others.

Brother Andrew Murray said in his book Waiting on God:

“We are called with tender hearts to think of their (those with whom you worship in church, a Sunday school, a Gospel hall, a young men’s association, a mission work abroad, …) sad estate, and to wait on God on their behalf.” .We must learn to do so

Prayer: Dear Lord, I ask for forgiveness for having let my heart invade by sin. Please forgive me and cleanse me. I take the commitment to wait on you oh God on my behalf.

More so oh God, teach me to wait on you for others in my neighbourhood either in church or in the city where I belong. I refuse to continue gossiping about others who have lost the vision. I will pray for them until you show them mercy. Help me do so oh God.

May God bless is body as we are keepers of one another in praying and acting.
